App for monitoring the production of chemical and pharmaceutical materials
The client
Industry
- Technology
- German-American company founded in 2005, in Germany
- Specialises in Plant Process Management and other digital solutions to help transform the operations of clients in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries
- Offices in Bad Säckingen, Germany, and Boston, USA
Challenge
Develop a solution to manage and monitor the current status of production lines in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. This application would provide real-time feedback to users and supervisors, enabling quicker responses to production incidents.
Also, it would facilitate safer shift handovers between staff by logging historical data about incidents and deviations.
We faced the additional challenge of seamlessly integrating this new solution with legacy services.
Solution
Implement a user-friendly interface to monitor the state of multiple pieces of equipment involved in the production of chemical and pharmaceutical materials.
For this purpose, we developed a responsive and visually rich web design to ensure that the extensive amount of information could be easily interpreted by users.
In the application back-end, given that delayed reactions to production incidents could be catastrophic, we prioritised high-performance data handling, including the reading, processing, filtering, and transformation of the vast amounts of data generated by production line sensors and external services.
